Starting my professional poker journey in 2021 has given me a unique perspective, enabling a deeper connection with students' challenges and aspirations. My Wall Street tenure as a quantitative modeler has sharpened my ability to demystify complex topics. I was fortunate to quickly join a tight-knit study group that includes amazing players like LuckyChewy and Nick Schulman, my co-founders at Octopi. This experience not only transformed my game; it unearthed a passion for mentoring.

A revelation for many students is the wide spectrum of different strategies within the GTO framework. The realization that multiple strategies can share literally identical Expected Value, and the further expansion of strategic possibilities when "nearly identical" replaces "literally identical", paves the path for both creativity and style. This nuance, I believe, is the key to transitioning from "good to great". Moreover, it makes room for crafting a strategy that genuinely resonates with you, which you can seamlessly wield in high-pressure spots. This concept is often under-appreciated by students who are new to solvers.
